Amsterdam has established a new local chapter of the New European Bauhaus (NEB), bringing together public institutions and organisations to advance the city’s ambitions for climate neutrality, innovation, social inclusion and cultural heritage.
The NEB Local Chapter Amsterdam is coordinated by Dagmar Keim of the City of Amsterdam, Mareile Zuber of Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and Teije Terhorst of Waag Futurelab.
The chapter will facilitate knowledge-sharing across sectors and disciplines through regular exchanges and multi-stakeholder events. It will also share information on funding opportunities, help members build project consortia and provide updates on relevant policies, projects and funding programmes.
The initiative aims to connect the New European Bauhaus approach with Amsterdam’s ambition to become an innovative, climate-neutral metropolis while preserving its heritage and promoting diversity and social inclusion.
The NEB initiative encourages local stakeholders across Europe to establish similar chapters. Organisations interested in launching a chapter can contact their national NEB contact point or the NEB unit.
The Amsterdam chapter is part of the wider NEB Community, which brings together stakeholders working to translate the initiative’s principles into practice.
